| Created exclusively for La Maison du Whisky as part of the Itinéraires catalogue, This Is Not A Blend is a limited-edition Compass Box single malt built from seven first-fill bourbon barrels distilled in 2015, then finished for eight weeks in ex-Bowmore 2002 casks. Despite its playful name, this is a single malt Scotch, not a blended whisky. The Bowmore finish brings a gentle coastal and smoky lift, while the first-fill bourbon base keeps the profile bright, fresh and delicately waxy. The result is a pastoral, maritime and subtly peated whisky that showcases Compass Box’s precision in layering flavour without overwhelming the spirit’s natural clarity. | |

Nose: Fresh and subtle, lifted by sea-breeze salinity, green barley, liquorice, vanilla, candied lemon and Williams pear. With time in the glass, deeper notes of cedar, clove, balsam and acacia honey emerge Palate: Silky, ample and elegantly oily. Tropical fruits (pineapple, banana), beeswax and honey unfold into chamomile and verbena before drifting toward reed, rush and soft coconut Finish: Rich and concentrated. The peat becomes more liquorice-forward, joined by eucalyptus, aniseed, samphire, sea kale and delicate vegetal notes. Warm, fermenting barley tones linger long after the last sip |
