Produced at La Alteña Distillery, founded in 1937 by Felipe Camarena and now led by his grandson Carlos Camarena, Tapatío Reposado is made from 100% blue Weber agave grown in the highlands of Jalisco. The agave is slow-cooked in traditional brick ovens, crushed using a combination of tahnoa and roller mill, then fermented and double-distilled in copper pot stills. Aged for 4-6 months in ex-bourbon barrels and bottled at 38% ABV, this reposado introduces subtle oak influence while preserving the distillery’s agave-forward style. The result is a balanced expression where freshness, texture and structure sit in quiet alignment. |
