Nose : Rich, deep. Initially very elegant, the aromatic palette is floral (white lilac, lily of the valley), candied (lemon, orange), medicinal (balm), and herbal (hay, alfalfa). Increasingly concentrated, it becomes malty, spicy (ginger, cinnamon), and milky (rice pudding). Palate : Dynamic, sleek. Tinted with exoticism (banana, pineapple), the taste palette also reveals a delightfully liqueur-like quality (old Sauternes). Nobly spiced (cardamom), it lingers on flavors of precious wood (sandalwood) and incense. The mouthfeel is beautifully grainy (rice). Finish : Long, silky. Increasingly indulgent, the tasting becomes a delicious excuse to savor calissons from Aix, chew on a stick of licorice, or enjoy the smoke from a fine Havana cigar. Long after, the retro olfaction is pastoral and floral (dandelion). |
