Yamazaki 55

The oldest single malt whisky in the history the House of Suntory

Passenger of time

A masterpiece across three generations of Yamazaki Master blenders; the founder Shinjiro Torii (also the founding father of Japanese Whisky), Keizo Saji & Shingo Torii.

First distilled in 1960, age in mizunara oak cask and then.

The second and third malt was distilled in 1961 & 1964, respectively, aged in American White Oak.

Then the whole package was brought together by Shingo Torii in partnership with Shinji Fukuyo.

Deep amber distinctive of Mizunara casks.

NOSE

A robust aroma redolent of sandal wood.  A sweet, mature bouquet like well-ripened fruit.

A soft, smooth first sip that blossoms in the mouth with flavor.  A mixture of sweet and slightly bitter, followed by a woody note from the Mizunara cask.
