Details | Distilled a year after the distillery was bought out by Andrew Symington, this version, which has reached maturity, is absolutely magnificent in power, concentration and smoothness. Restoring a hundredfold the fruity, floral and malty character inherent in Edradour, it above all highlights a profusion of spices, each more noble than the next, as well as surprisingly intense and remarkably integrated animal sequences. |

Tasting notes |
Nose: ample, powerful. Musky, chocolatey, spicy (black pepper, cloves), fruity (candied orange, date) and malty at the same time, the first nose is impressive with fullness and concentration. When aired, notes of bacon underline the animal character of the aromatic palette. This then becomes deliciously honeyed (heather, lime), differently fruity (rhubarb, apricot, wild strawberry) and finely caramelized. Scents of pine resin, iris and green tomato fritters poetically conclude the first stage of the tasting.
