Balvenie's newest release
Unique Balvenie?
In the Balvenie distillery's 129 years of history, this is the first time French Oak was used in the maturation process.
The cask used to mature this batch were used to season Red Pineau des Charantes- a fortified wine made from fresh, unfermented grape juice or a blend of lightly fermented grape must, to which a Cognac's eau-de-vie is added and matured. Pineau is also found as a home-made product in the neighboring Deau-Sevres and Vendee departements.
The 16 Year Old French oak release is part of the 'Flavours of The Balevenie' range, accompanying the 15 Year Old Madeira Cask and the 18 Year Old PX Sherry Cask!
