Distilled at GlenAllachie and released as part of its Wood Finish collection, here we have a splendid 12 year old single malt. The whisky spent a decade resting in American Oak, before a second maturation in ruby Port pipes! Rich and vibrant, it's packing plenty of rich, musty character – a most delightful dram.

Nose: Floral dried petals and wild honey, pressed grapes, gingerbread.

Palate: Banana bread and a prickle of crystalised ginger, dark jammy notes of plum and damson, a touch of zest, sweet oak, and soft spice.

Finish: Still floral with juicy, vinous fruit, caramel, and rich barley.
