One of a trio of intriguing single malts launched by GlenAllachie in 2021 for its Wine Cask Series! If you took a look at that name and thought "Wonder if it's something to do with wine casks...?", you'd be right on the money – all three have been finished in some excellent wine casks! This 11 year old expression was given a finishing period of nearly two years in barriques from the Grattamacco winery in Tuscany, imparting oodles of red fruit and orange zest notes.
Nose: Plum, fudge, clementine, mixed nuts with a drizzle of toffee.
Palate: Red grapes and another helping of plum. Oaky spices begin to grow here – think cassia, peppercorn, and nutmeg.
Finish: Toasty barley warmth, with hints of blackcurrant and citrus peels.
