Here's an independent bottling from one of Scotland's most under-the-radar distilleries. Glen Elgin sits just outside the town in the village of Fogwatt and quietly produces fillings for Diageo's blends. This spent 10 years in an ex-bourbon hogshead and then the rest of the time in a profiler barrique - a Portuguese wine cask - before bottling at cask strength.
Cask Number: Profiler STR Barrique #800179
Vol: 70cl
ABV: 58.5%
Nose: Honey, apples, vanilla and some cherry fruit.
Palate: Spicy, black pepper and ginger, with a creamy texture.
Finish: Honey and vanilla.
